Camera drains the car battery. I wish it automatically turns off after 1 hour of no usage. Please add this option. Also wish we can upgrade our Camera to the latest updates once this is added.
I have the same issue. The camera appears to be constantly recording even if I turn off the parking mode (I'm using vantrue sd card). I also have a hardwire kit - connected to the fuse. Still, it can drain my battery in a matter of 2 days. This has started to happen a few months back. It's super annoying. Could it be a faulty hardwire kit?
If you use hardwire kit connect to the fuse port which has constant power supply with the parking mode off, the cam will continuous recording. If you turn on the parking mode, the cam will only record when it detect motion or vibration. The hardwire kit has low voltage protection function, when it detects the car battery drops to the protection level, it will cut down the power supply for the dash cam. If the cam still record when the battery power drops to the hardwire kits' protection level, then there is probably an issue with the hardwire kit. Thanks.
My N4 dashcam drains my car battery when it is parked for a few days and my car will not start. I park it in a public parking garage. It currently is plugged into the lighter socket. I am planning on hardwiring it using your kit. What can I do to prevent it from fullly draining battery?
You can consider to use this hardwire kit https://www.vantrue.net/Goods/detail/gid/99.html .It has a smart low voltage protection system that will automatically shut off the power to your dash cam when the battery voltage drops below your set value(11.6V/11.9V/12.2V/12.5V/23.6V/23.9V/24.2V/24.5V option available), thus preventing it draining the battery.
I just had the same problem with my N4. The parking mode is set for both motion and collision detection. The power cable is Vantrue 11.5ft Type C USB 12V 24V to 5V Dash Cam Hardwire Kit with Add a Circuit Fuses, Low Voltage Protection for N4. -WP

Hello Sai, what's your setting for parking mode and which power cable did you use? Thank you.
